Strong Woman Do Bong Soon Episode 9+10 Rant Review

Why is it that the second-male lead and in most cases, a fan favourite is ALWAYS late to the game. Like, every flipping time. Is it tradition? Is there a book titled, ‘The making of Korean Dramas and how to annoy viewers while also getting high viewer ratings.’ Does this exist? Because if it does, you need to let me know right this instant. I just don’t get it, it’s a trend that doesn’t look like it’s stopping anytime soon.

I just need one good reason, in fact, it doesn’t have to be good, just one reason why Guk Doo never said anything to Bong Soon in high school.

A: He had not realised his feelings at the time.

Alright, I’ll let that slide but what happened to when he realised he liked her.

A: He was dating someone then so he couldn’t do anything?

Oh, really? Is that so? But his girlfriend fell for someone else while dating him though.

A: Yeah, …but…he’s the better person.

Lol, um…okay. He knew Bong Soon liked him but never acknowledged it and even drew a thick line between them. I mean, it was hot at first but it just made me frustrated. It even made me more frustrated because my boyfriend who happens to be Korean (I’m in Korea, what id I expect) looks a lot like Guk Joo, same height and even similar names. His name is Han Ji Soo (imagine that) and that just made me want to beat him up after every episode. What has to be done in the world to make second-male leads behave normal. Huh?

I have to admit thought when Guk Joo told Min Hyuk that he was the one to protect her not him especially in that hot voice of his, I actually forgot that I was angry because that was one of the hottest scenes ever also because I was not expecting it. But what do you expect if you bottle up everything and just watch thinking it would go your way when you want it to. Nope. He even allowed her to sleep at his house. Sad to say Guk Doo but we all saw it coming and we know who’s ending up with who.

With the way things are going now, I don’t think there’s any hope for Guk Joo left because it’s obvious Bong Soon has fallen and to be honest I think Min Hyuk is a better fit for her ONLY because Guk Joo’s job as a detective is tasking enough and won’t give him enough time for his bae. See how well his last relationship went. Aside the detective job, I think Guk Joo is better. I can’t explain it or put it in words but there’s just something about him.

A: Is it because you personally like the actor or-

First of all, no. Secondly, who are you and what are you doing? Anyway, I think most people would agree with me that Guk Joo goes better with her than Min Hyuk. I don’t like Min Hyuk less or anything in fact, he’s the only one who’s not afraid of showing his feelings for Bong Soon. I mean everyone knew when he started liking her and some of us were hoping Guk Joo would up his game quickly and not be a typical second-male lead. I guess hopes are for losers, right?

And from the preview clips, Guk Joo was getting ready to confess only to be stopped. Just…this is going to be hard. There better be a twist to this.

You could call this post a rant post or something because I don’t think anything productive came out of this. For those reading this, I’d like to know who you think is better: Guk Doo or Min Hyuk. So I know I’m not alone on this ride.
